From Noreen of Yosemite, California on 8/29/2016.
Many years ago a packer named "Doc" made us Piute Tea in these. He steeped Lapsing Soochong Tea....strained it into our Sierra Cups, then pulled out a bottle of "ol' Grandad". Must say it was tough going trying to make it back to our camp in Piute Meadows in the moon lit shadow of Tower Peak (Hoover Wilderness).
Don't leave the trailhead without it.

A study in simplicity. Always handy hooked to the outside of my pack. Deep enough to make a little breakfast in. Designed so you don't burn your lips from your hot beverage. Sturdy enough to dig a hole. Shallow enough to dip into a very shallow stream for that little bit of water. Strong enough to take a hit without denting. I've used one for 45 years and taken mine to five continents.
